Ukrainian students rescue Union Minister by paying security deposit for LS polls in Kerala

A delegation of students from Kerala, who were evacuated from Ukraine in 2022, handed over the security deposit for nomination papers to Union Minister of State for External Affairs, V. Muraleedharan, who is contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Attingal in Thiruvananthapuram district. The students, air-lifted from Ukraine after the Russian attack, presented Rs 25,000 to Muraleedharan, accompanied by their parents.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Operation Ganga’ evacuation program rescued 2,320 students from Kerala in Ukraine, with Muraleedharan overseeing the efforts for the state. The students’ delegation, led by Sourav and Sai Sruthi, met with the Union Minister to submit the necessary deposit amount.

Muraleedharan, contesting against Congress MP Adoor Prakash and CPI-M legislator V. Joy in Attingal, received the deposit from the students as Kerala prepares for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the second phase on April 26. The parents of the students were also present during the delegation’s meeting with the Union Minister.

The delegation’s gesture of handing over the security deposit symbolizes their gratitude towards the government’s efforts in the evacuation process during the crisis in Ukraine. As the election season approaches, Muraleedharan continues his campaign in Attingal, vying for a seat in the Lok Sabha.
