Union Minister announces North India’s first government homoeopathic college to be established in Kathua, J&K

North India’s first government homoeopathic college, costing Rs 80 crore, will be established in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district. Union Science and Technology Minister Dr Jitendra Singh announced the development, stating that the institution will cover over 8 acres, with the potential for further expansion into three additional acres.

During his visit to the proposed site in Jasrota, Kathua, the Union Minister revealed that the structure will include a hospital complex, college, administrative block, and separate hostels for male and female students. The college aims to provide homoeopathy degree programs not previously available in North India, offering cost-effective treatment to patients in need.

Dr Jitendra Singh highlighted that the college aligns with the Modi government’s healthcare strategy, merging allopathic and Ayush streams, including homoeopathy, ayurveda, and naturopathy. The college’s presence will transform Kathua into a comprehensive and affordable healthcare hub, equipped with state-of-the-art medical facilities, boosting healthcare services in North India.

The upcoming government homoeopathic college in Kathua is expected to serve as a significant milestone in enhancing healthcare accessibility and affordability in the region, further promoting the integration of alternative medicine practices with mainstream healthcare approaches.
