Union Minister L. Murugan officially enters the race by filing nomination from Nilgiris Lok Sabha constituency

In a bid for the Nilgiris Lok Sabha constituency in Tamil Nadu, Senior BJP leader and Union Minister L. Murugan filed his nomination on Monday. He was accompanied by BJP’s Tamil Nadu President K. Annamalai and several party leaders and supporters. The nomination was submitted to Nilgiris District Collector M. Aruna.

The nomination marks a tough three-cornered fight for Murugan, as he faces competition from sitting MP and DMK candidate A. Raja, as well as AIADMK’s D. Lokesh Tamilselvan. The political atmosphere heated up as a clash erupted between BJP and AIADMK cadres outside the Collectorate. The police had to intervene and carry out a baton charge to disperse the crowd. Some workers from both parties sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital.

The incident reflects the tense political landscape in Tamil Nadu as the Lok Sabha elections approach. With the involvement of senior leaders and supporters from both parties, the competition for the Nilgiris constituency promises to be fierce. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
