UP CM criticizes Congress for ‘anti-women’ stance; Randeep Surjewala responds to statement being taken out of context

Mathura, Uttar Pradesh: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed strong disapproval towards the Congress party following derogatory comments made by one of its leaders against BJP MP Hema Malini. Adityanath criticized the Congress for its “anti-women stand” during a public meeting in support of Hema Malini, who is contesting her third term in the Lok Sabha from Mathura constituency.

The chief minister condemned the disrespectful remarks made by the Congress leader against Hema Malini, stating that it reflected the party’s mindset and frustration. Adityanath emphasized, “Their insult to ‘Matra Shakti’ cannot be accepted and people will give a befitting reply.” He also criticized the Congress for facing difficulty in finding candidates for the elections and allegedly borrowing from other parties.

Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala faced backlash from the BJP after reportedly making disparaging comments against Hema Malini. Surjewala defended himself by claiming that his statement had been twisted out of context by the BJP IT cell. He clarified that his remarks were solely about holding leaders in public life accountable, mentioning figures like Nayab Singh Saini and Khattar ji.

Surjewala further defended himself by sharing a video of his speech that sparked controversy. He stated, “I only said we have huge respect for Hema Malini because she is married to Dharmendra ji and is the daughter-in-law of our state.” The exchange of words between the BJP and Congress highlights the intensifying political atmosphere as the Lok Sabha elections approach.
