UP government challenges Allahabad HC’s lockdown order in SC

The UP government has challenged the order of lockdown of Allahabad High Court in the Supreme Court. The government has said that the High Court does not have the authority to give such instructions. On April 19, the High Court ordered the lockdown in five cities of UP. The bench of the Chief Justice of India will hear the matter today

The High Court has ordered the lockdown till 26 April in cities like Lucknow, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Kanpur and Gorakhpur. At the same time, the government has asked that during this time all other things except the essential things should be closed.
