UP govt makes mask-wearing mandatory in all schools and colleges in Noida due to Covid-19 cases

Due to rising cases of Covid-19 in Delhi, Noida and Gurugram, the U.P government has instructed every school as well as college to make masks mandatory for teachers, students and staff. The Noida Health Department issued an order stating to wear a face mask in public spaces such as schools, colleges, malls, hospitals and public transport. Those who are not following these protocols will be denied access to public spots.

Dr Sunil Sharma, Chief Medical Officer, also issued an order for Noida in regard to increasing the number of cases in the city along with the state of Uttar Pradesh. “A rise in cases of Covid has been noted in the country, including parts of Uttar Pradesh. Keeping that and protection against the infection in mind, it is very important to follow these precautions and Covid protocol,” Chief Medical Officer Sunil Kumar Sharma, who issued the guidelines, said.

The concerned officials also asked colleges, schools as well as other educational institutions to ensure everyone follows Covid protocols like wearing masks and space between two students in class. Plus, the management needs to ensure that every person in the school, office or college premises has access to hand soaps and sanitisers. 

Besides that, educational institutions are instructed to get thermal scanning at the school gate. Additionally, those who are suffering from flu or cold-like symptoms need to be home-quarantined and must stay away from any public spaces. They are not allowed to attend college or school for the well-being of other students. Parents and schools both must ensure that they have their COVID-19 vaccinations along with other booster doses. The following guidelines came for Delhi saw 114 new Covid cases in just a single day making the overall covid cases 396.
