US lawmakers scheduled to visit South Korea next week

A bipartisan US congressional delegation is set to visit Seoul next week for talks with South Korean officials. The delegation includes Korean American Rep. Young Kim (R-CA) and Rep. Ami Bera (D-CA) to discuss strengthening the alliance in light of North Korean provocations. They will also meet with South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and key ministers during their stay.

The group of US representatives will have discussions with South Korean officials to enhance their alliance amidst rising tensions in the region. The visit is crucial as North Korea continues to pose security challenges, and cooperation between the two countries is essential for regional stability.

The delegation, led by Rep. Young Kim, chair of the House Foreign Affairs subcommittee on the Indo-Pacific, and Rep. Ami Bera, will focus on key issues such as security cooperation and strategic partnership. Meetings with South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and top ministers will further strengthen bilateral ties.

The US lawmakers have decided not to engage in talks with South Korean politicians or visit the National Assembly due to the upcoming parliamentary elections in South Korea. However, the delegation’s discussions with key government officials are expected to pave the way for enhanced cooperation between the two nations in the future.
