US Vice President Harris advocates for increasing aid to Gaza
US Vice President Kamala Harris has called on Israel to increase aid to Gaza by opening new border crossings and removing unnecessary restrictions. She expressed concern over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, urging for more aid to reach the suffering population without any hindrances. The plea was made during her speech in Selma, Alabama.
Harris highlighted the dire situation in Gaza, pointing out instances of families resorting to eating leaves, malnourished babies being born without proper medical care, and children dying from lack of basic necessities. She condemned the violence against aid trucks and called for the protection of humanitarian personnel and convoys to ensure essential supplies reach those in need.
The Vice President also criticized Hamas for its control over Gaza and the threat it poses to Israel. She emphasized the need for Hamas to agree to a ceasefire deal that could potentially reunite hostages with their families and provide immediate relief to the people of Gaza. Harris urged for a resolution to the ongoing crisis and restoration of basic services in the region.
Hamas, on the other hand, has been accused of disregard for innocent lives, including those in Gaza who have suffered under its rule for years. The group has also been holding hostages, including American citizens, for nearly 150 days. Harris urged for the release of the hostages and urged for a ceasefire to bring relief to the people of Gaza.
