Uttarakhand Assembly Elections 2022: Expelled Congress leader Kishore Upadhyay Joins BJP today

In a major boost to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Uttarakhand, expelled Congress leader Kishore Upadhyay on Thursday joined the party in the presence of its state unit president Ajay Bhatt. Let us tell you, on Wednesday Upadhyay was expelled from the Congress party for 6 years for anti-party activities.

Commenting on his joining of the BJP, Upadhyay said that he feels like it’s time for him to speak up. He believes development in Uttarakhand can only happen with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at its head and wants nothing more than working towards making this state better than ever before!

“The work RSS and BJP have done in Tehri is praiseworthy. I am grateful to Prahlad Joshi for giving me this opportunity,” said Kishore Upadhyay.

When he was asked why he left Congress, the newly inducted BJP leader said that a picture of himself with them went viral which represented his association in a different light.

Let us tell you, Congress has expelled Kishore Upadhyay for “anti-party activities”. He has been removed from primary membership and will be allowed back only after six years time.

The AICC, in a letter on 26 January said that since you have been indulging in anti-party activities despite several warnings therefore we are expelling your primary membership with effect from now for 6 years.
