Veer Bal Diwas 2024 Quotes in Punjabi, Images, Messages, Shayari, Slogans and Captions

Veer Bal Diwas is observed annually on December 26 in India. This day is dedicated to honoring the sacrifice and unwavering bravery of the four sons of the tenth Guru of Sikhism, Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Specifically, it commemorates the legendary tale of his younger sons, Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh.

Guru Gobind Singh Ji gave up his entire family to uphold religion, truth, and justice. His four sons—Ajit Singh, Jujhar Singh, Zorawar Singh, and Fateh Singh—laid down their lives in the service of faith and humanity, embodying the core values of the Khalsa Panth.

In 1705, during a time when the Mughal Empire’s oppression was at its height in Punjab, Guru Gobind Singh and his family were not spared from this tyranny. His elder sons, Ajit Singh and Jujhar Singh, became martyrs in the Battle of Chamkaur. The younger sons, Zorawar Singh (9 years old) and Fateh Singh (7 years old), bravely refused to convert to Islam before Nawab Wazir Khan of Sirhind and ultimately sacrificed their lives.

In 1705, Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s family was torn apart. His wife, Mata Gujri, along with her younger sons, Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh, sought refuge with a trusted servant named Gangu. However, driven by greed, Gangu betrayed them and handed them over to Nawab Wazir Khan of Sirhind.

Wazir Khan pressured the two children to convert, but the Sahibzadas stood firm and shouted, “Jo Bole So Nihal, Sat Sri Akal.” The Nawab imprisoned them in the cold under the open sky and ordered them to convert again the next day. When the children refused once more, they were bricked alive into the wall. Upon hearing this, Mata Gujri also chose to give up her life.

During the celebration of Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s Prakash Parv in 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that December 26th would be recognized as Veer Bal Diwas. This decision served as an inspiration not only for the Sikh community but for the entire nation. This day honors the sacrifice of the Sahibzadas, aiming to inspire the new generation through their remarkable lives.
