‘Vexbolts Mass Unfollowing’ Becomes Year-End Viral Phenomenon
What began as a prank has evolved into a viral TikTok event which has attracted millions of users who are waiting for the close of 2024, The event is aptly titled “Vexbolts Mass Unfollowing” and encourages users to unfollow TikToker in totality on New York Eve in what promises to be an internet spectacle of epic proportions.
The genesis to the viral TikTok trend can be traced to late December when comments began deluging videos which featured the cryptic message “Vexbolts mass unfollowing Dec 31st spread the word.”
However, the movement augmented Vexbolts’ follower count by huge numbers. However, the surge in number of followers are users who had joined for fun to unfollow on December 31.
One user commented,
“It’s not even about his content anymore,”
Another user commented,
“We’re all just here for the chaos.”
The viral trend took off when a TikToker unemployedcrashout posted a video on December 25, and the video was able to rake in 530,000 views in just 24 hours.
Video promoting the event which was set to one of Vexbolts’ original sounds including the Low Taper Fade meme spread like wildfire.

Vexbolts responds to the happening
The Viral Trend did not affect Vexbolts, who even posted a triumphant video on December 25 when his follower count surpassed 2 million and posted,
“I love you all!”
However users started cracking jokes about the situation and one user posted,
“You realize we’re only here to leave on the 31st, right?”
Vexbolts following exceeded 5 million when he finally realized that it was a joke and also posted a video featuring himself looking pensive with a caption,
“Kai Cenat, please save me from the mass unfollowing.”
The video also featured a shot of his live followers dropping and raking in 8.5 million views.
Streamers like Ishowspped join the trend
The trend was also joined by streamers like IShowSpeed who asked his followers to participate in the viral event.
He also labelled it as the funniest thing on the app now. However, some like StableRonaldo and JasonTheWeen have asked their followers to remain calm and resist the trend.
In a livestream JasonTheWeen stated,
“It’s ridiculous, Let the guy live!”
Users are keeping their fingers crossed and speculating if millions of followers do unfollow Vexbolts, or will the joke backfire?
Vexbolts said in his latest video,
“Whatever happens happens. If you’re here on January 1, you’re a real one.”
