A video that shows Lil Durk’s 10-year-old son shooting his stepfather in a domestic dispute with his mother has started a huge debate.
The video shows the kid snatching a gun from his stepfather, known as Reezy’s hip during the altercation, before shooting him.
The video has evoked mixed reactions on social media.

Reezy, a.k.a. Joshua Pippens, posted the footage on Instagram, provided his insight into the incident, and added that he was not the aggressor.
“As you all can see, I was not the aggressor, and you all can also see how I still had my gun on my hip. He grabbed my gun off my hip, following his mom’s lead, and tried to shoot me and then actually shot me. I advise you all to see it before they take it down,”

Joshua Pippens, married to a woman named Travonna—the mother of Lil Durk’s son Romeo, who allegedly pulled the trigger—has made it clear that he is not going to press charges but is surprised by the whole incident.
In another post, he said,
“I was trying to protect myself from getting shot. I never in a million years thought a kid I bought 4 wheelers for and paid for football leagues and everything would do this, but he only knows what mom shows him. I still love him like he’s mine.”
He also added that he hoped Lil Durk would seek and retain full custody of his son. It does not appear that Durk has spoken publicly on the matter.
In another post, Reezy gave a detailed account of the incident and said that the incident happened at his mom’s place in front of his mom’s granny and other kids. He also added that no one is going to jail or they would already have been there. He also added that he is for rights over his kids.
“Same n**ga, you all keep commenting his name like he did something. I got that boy’s paperwork. You all want me to upload that, too?”

Netizens have reacted in a mixed way, with some expressing sympathy that the child had to endure this traumatizing situation.
However, many reacted indifferently, and some even found humor in the whole episode. One user suggested that the incident could throw up potential lyrics from the Grammy-award-winning emcee addressing the altercation.

People still remember how Lil Durk spent the whole day with his ten kids on Father’s Day and on the morning of June 17 when he shared the photo with all his children.
