A video is currently going viral on the internet, showing a man pulling out a gun at Diamond Ranch High School in Pomona. The video has sparked outrage in the country due to the recent rise in school shooting incidents in USA.
According to news reports, the investigation is ongoing, and police officials have not yet identified the person in the clip. A parent recorded the clip and later posted it on the internet. It features a man in black pulling out a firearm and pointing it at the students of Pomona High School.
Man Pulls Gun on Students in Viral Pomona High School Video
Later, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed in an official statement that police responded to a call around 3:30 p.m. from Pomona High School.
The statement mentioned that a group of men entered the campus with weapons and assaulted some students. It should be noted that it is still unclear whether the men were in any way associated with the school or the students of Pomona High School.
Darren Knowles, Superintendent of the Pomona Unified School District, addressed the parents and the staff in an official statement:
“We are working with the local authorities to provide information to help them apprehend the suspects,” Knowles said in the statement, according to KABC-TV. “Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department will be on campus [Friday] along with additional Pomona Unified School District Security to support the safety of our students. We will continue to keep our parents, students and staff updated as we learn additional information.”
One of the key witnesses, a student’s mother, talked to the media, saying:
“At the end of the day, these are gunmen. That’s terrorist — the way they … they behaviour, how they came in. They came in masks. It’s just sad. So they knew what they were doing and they knew where to go. They knew where to find whoever they were going to find.”
