A video that has gone viral across social media platforms shows Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz dancing while wearing bell bottoms, an exposed midriff, and a cowboy hat. It has become the latest talking point of the town.
Tim Walz Dancing to Beyonce
However, it has been revealed that this is an altered video of a dancer and drag artist who has spoken to the media house AFP.
Kamala Harris’ running mate is depicted in the video dancing to Beyoncé’s ‘Texas Holdem’ song, and it has since gone viral on social media.
The video was first shared by user @TexasRepublic71, which shows a man in a red cowboy hat, a black crop top, black leather chaps, and cowboy boots.
The poor quality of the video makes the person’s face unrecognizable, and he is also wearing glasses that resemble those Tim usually wears.
The post does not claim that it is Tim, but the user poses the question in a caption asking who the person is.
Several respondents said that it was Tim Walz, and one user, @merrrisahansen17, reposted the video with the caption “TIMMAY,” apparently about the running mate of Kamala Harris.
A community note under the post, however, clarified that it is an altered video and also attached a link to the original video of the drag artist Matthew Krumpey, who had uploaded the video on February 19.
The posts have gone viral on social media platforms such as TikTok, X, and others, such as YouTube.
The presidential race between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump heats up as barely two months are left until D-Day in November.
The last few days have seen Tim Walz facing a deluge of such false attacks on the internet.
Krumpe posted an Instagram story alerting his followers to the clip’s misuse.
“This video is yet again trending because a bunch of MAGA Republicans put @timwalz’s face on mine and tried to make some insinuation that he was a big flaming dancing gay. Never had that on my 2024 bingo card.”
Earlier in August, a similar video went viral on Facebook in which Kamala Harris’ running mate was dubbed ‘Tampon Tim’.
In the video, a person wearing a cowboy hat and a cropped shirt was dancing to OhGeesy’s ‘GEEKALEEK feat by Cash Kidd’.
Walz’s face was superimposed on the face of the original dancer.
Again on September 4, Charles Herbster, who was a former Agricultural Chairman and a member of Trump’s team, shared a picture that showed Trump posing with a group of people wearing T-shirts with the message “Nebraska Waltz For Trump”.
Tim Walz’s mother, Darlene Walz, however, clarified that the people around Donald Trump were their distant family members. Her daughter, Sandra Dietrich, also said that they are not acquainted with the people shown in the picture.
