In recent memory, two planes collided in Nevada and the netizens were quick to re-upload past incidents of plane collisions to cash on the public sentiments.

One such video that is making the rounds is the collision between two fighter planes that occurred at the Reno Air Races in 2011.

On September 16, 2011 a World War II vintage P-51D Mustang called the Galloping Ghost Pilot lost control of the aircraft and plunged it into the spectators. The pilot as well as 11 onlookers lost their life.

The video of the accident 2011 is currently going viral on social media.

The recent collision of two planes in Nevada led to the resurfacing of the old video of the Reno Air Races 2011 plane crash video.

The video is pretty gory and shows the bodies of the victims strewn all around. We warn you that the video can be disturbing to some.

Meanwhile, the Reno Air Racing Association confirmed that a collision between the two aircraft led to the sad death of the two pilots who have been identified as Nick Macy and Chris Rushing.

Casualties In Reno Air Races 2011 Plane Crash Incident

On September 16, 2011, James Leeward was piloting the World War II vintage P-51D Mustang called the Galloping Ghost when his aircraft stalled, pitched, and nosedived into onlookers at more than 400 miles per hour (640 km/h).

The plane disintegrated and killed the pilot and 10 onlookers besides severely injuring more t70 people. Thankfully the fuel dispersed and there was no fire or the tragedy would have been more horrific. The Air Show was cancelled after the accident.

The World War II vintage P-51D Mustang called the Galloping Ghost was greatly modified and had been brought out of retirement. Investigation later revealed that the modification including several components of the aircraft being removed to make it more efficient was the cause of the accident.

The Reno Air Races 2011 plane crash video which has since became viral on social media platforms like TikTok is garnering thousands of views, We would like to state that till date no video of the Plane collision in Nevada is available on social media. The incident is currently under federal investigations.
