The defeat of India in the ICC World Cup 2023 has broken many hearts of Indian fans. The Indian team has also been at the receiving end of endless trolls on social media. However, after the IND vs AUS final played in Ahmedabad, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi visited the Indian dressing room and comforted the Indian Cricket Team and also invited the Indian Cricket Team to meet him in Delhi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a surprise visit to the Indian Cricket Team dressing post their heartbreaking loss to Australia in the ICC World Cup 2023 final. Pictures of PM Modi consoling a teary-eyed Mohammed Shami have become trending on social media. Earlier PM Modi had congratulated Shami for his stellar performance in the run-up to the World Cup final. UP Chief Minister has also proposed to build a Mini Cricket Stadium at Shami’s native village.

Modi also consoled the Indian Cricket Team skipper Rohit Sharma, Senior Player Virat Kohli, and the head coach of the team, Rahul Dravid. Modi also shook hands with the players and reminded them that they had won 10 matches in a row and was seen joking with Jasprit Bumrah, asking if he knew Gujarati.

“You guys have won 10 matches. It happens,” Modi told Rohit and Kohli.

He also hugged the highest wicket-taker of the tournament, Mohammed Shami. He also reminded him that he had given a stellar performance. He then motivated the Indian team with a pep talk and invited them to meet them in Delhi and be his guests.

The run up to the ICC World Cup 2023 can be described as a dream run. India had defeated Australia in Chennai by six wickets. It comprehensively crushed all the other nine teams and reached the final for the fourth time in history.

India was the hot favorite to win the World Cup. The setting was also perfect, Narendra Modi stadium with a packed audience of 1.3 Lakh spectators. The cricketing greats and the Bollywood were in full attendance along with the PM of India and the Australian Deputy PM. 

They had defeated New Zealand in the semis but could not subdue the Australians who must be credited for their exceptional performance. It is the second time that India lost to Australia in a World Cup final.
