West Philadelphia Ramadan Event Mass Shooting at Eid al-Fitr Celebration Remain Unknown 

On Wednesday in West Philadelphia, several people were shot while they were at a Ramadan event. Fox News cited sources of the news and claimed that the shooting incident occurred towards the culmination of the Eid event.

As per the media outlet, the fatal shooting incident took place near the 4700 block of Wyalusing Avenue.

Steve Keeley of Fox 29 added in its report that multiple arms and ammunition were obtained from the scene. Moreover, several people were apprehended. The entire area witnessed a strong presence of police officials.

Most social media users who were witnesses as well as ambulances stated that police officials asked for more ambulances to be provided at the scene. Meanwhile, a person was also run over by a vehicle, reported Times Now.

Multiple people were shot in West Philadelphia

Numerous sources were cited by CNN, and it reported that several individuals in the 48th and Girard areas were shot. 

CNN added that five people are currently under police’s custody and three people were reportedly hurt. A huge gathering was spotted in the area where shots were fired.

Until now, the consequences that led this shooting to take place remain unknown. Moreover, comments from authorities the awaited. 

On Wednesday, near the shooting incident, Blankenburg Elementary School was also located at 4600 Girard Avenue. However, on the day of the incident, no classes were reported. 

NBC News reported that confirmation came from police officials that this was not a less situation than a shooting incident. 

Furthermore, the authorities have not provided any further details. Near the shooting scene, on 4700 Wyalusing Avenue, the masjid of Philadelphia is also located.
