The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) has called top grapplers like Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat, and Sakshi Malik for trials to select teams for the Senior Asian Wrestling Championship and Asian OG Qualifier Wrestling Tournament in Bishkek. The trials will be held on March 10th and 11th, 2024 in New Delhi.

WFI President Sanjay Kumar Singh announced, “The 2024 Senior Asian Wrestling Championship will take place in Bishkek from April 11th to 16th. The Asian OG Qualifier Wrestling Tournament will follow from April 19th to 21st.” State Units are requested to inform wrestlers about the upcoming trials.

Sakshi Malik criticized the federation, expressing disappointment with the selection process. She stated, “Sanjay Singh aka Brij Bhushan Sharan is welcomed to the Indian Wrestling Federation. All limits of exploitation of the sisters and daughters of the country will be crossed because there is no one to stop them.” Malik thanked her supporters and emphasized the need for change.

The wrestling community awaits the outcome of the trials as top wrestlers gear up to compete in the prestigious tournaments. Stay tuned for updates on the selection process and the final team lineup for the Senior Asian Wrestling Championship and Asian OG Qualifier Wrestling Tournament in Bishkek.
