According to news websites, police found out that drugs were brought from Goa for a party in Hyderabad. Officials started an investigation to catch the ring and find out the organizers of the party. Later it was revealed the anti-narcotics were called and handed over the suspect as well as seized the drugs.
Earlier this week, the Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau raided a party organized in Hyderabad. Around 5 people were arrested out of which Tollywood film producer, Ventak was there. The party happened in an apartment building in Madhapur.
Police with the help of TSNAB officials raided the party. As of now, an investigation is going on, the producer as well as 4 men are being questioned to find out about the drugs.
Venkat, a prominent figure in the Tollywood industry has been detained due to his drug use. In June he was arrested by Hyderabad police for possessing illegal drugs. It has been claimed that he used to supply drugs to notable politicians and celebrities.
Back in 2007, the whole Tollywood industry was left stunned when police arrested Calvin Mascarenhas, a well-known musician for possessing drugs.
Calvin along with his group members used to supply drugs to celebrities, industrialists even college students. As of police reports, around 12 cases have been registered related to drug racket. 62 people out of which 11 were from the Tollywood industry have been arrested by the police.
They are booked under section 67 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and section 161 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
