When you dream about someone are they thinking of you? Let’s find out

When you dream about someone are they thinking of you?- After 9-5 and dinner, all you want is just lay in bed, watch your favorite movie or TV show and slowly fall asleep. Eight hours of sleep is mandatory to feel refreshed and active for the next day ahead. As you sleep sometimes you often see a person with whom you share a strong emotional bond. You see them unexpectedly in your dreams, sharing a great relationship or re-living a sweet memory. Sometimes it can be your partner, or best friend making a cameo in your dream. It might indicate that you are missing them in your real life or all of sudden just remembering them out of the blue.

Before we get to know what your dreams are all about, let’s understand first what are dreams.

“A study done in Germany found that a dream is the equivalent of a data dump between the hippocampus (your brain’s browser) and the neocortex (the memory). So, dreams are the hippocampus clearing the browser for the day, preparing your brain for the next day,” stated Christina Jeffrey, LMHC, a licensed mental health counselor and chief reputation officer at Humantold, a New York-based psychotherapy service.

When you dream about someone are they thinking of you? So if you are having dreams about someone it doesn’t necessarily mean they are dreaming about you as well. Most dreams are all about your inner self, behavior, and feelings. If you have recurring dreams about someone, it indicates they have made some kind of impact on your life or are couldn’t stop thinking about them in general, certified dream analyst Lauri Loewenberg states.

It also indicates if you are having visions about a specific person, be it any family person, close friend or former partner, then you must be going through something that is related to them and that is the reason they are on your mind, says Loewenberg.
