Who Is Kirsty Crooks The Irish Woman Exonerated Of All Charges In Legal Battle Over Ex-Boyfriend’s Files

Kirsty Crooks, an Irish woman who was accused of obtaining unauthorized access to her ex-boyfriend Stephen Hollywood’s computer data, has been cleared of all charges after a prolonged legal battle over her ex-boyfriend’s files.
During the course of the trial, Crooks maintained that her boyfriend had voluntarily given her access to all his social media and other accounts during the course of their relationship.
The court felt that the evidence provided by Hollywood was not trustworthy and gave a clean chit to Crooks.

Crooks was earlier facing legal charges of obtaining her ex-boyfriend’s computer files without permission. The case was heard at Belfast’s Laganside Magistrates Court, and after hearing the evidence, she was exonerated of all charges.
Crooks’ ex-boyfriend, Stephen Hollywood, had accused her of unlawfully accessing his personal information following their 2023 breakup. Kirsty Crooks and Stephen Hollywood were romantically involved for three years before their breakup in 2023.
During the court hearings, it was revealed that Crooks had discovered pornographic images of women on Snapchat belonging to one of Hollywood’s relatives. This discovery severely strained the relationship between the two while they were still together.
When Crooks confronted Hollywood about the pictures, the situation worsened to the point of a breakup. It was sometime later that Hollywood accused Crooks of obtaining his Snapchat account and other personal information illegally.
Crooks testified that during her relationship with Hollywood, he had willingly given her access to his account credentials.
She also stated that they frequently used each other’s electronic devices and social media accounts, and since her ex-boyfriend had voluntarily given her access, her actions were not illegal. She also mentioned that she checked Hollywood’s Snapchat account to verify rumours of his improper behaviour.
Crooks stated, “You don’t share passwords if you don’t want someone accessing your account.”
She also accused Hollywood of secretly monitoring her behaviour during their courtship by installing an internal security camera.
Hollywood, on his part, denied ever giving Crooks the passwords to his accounts. However, the court was not convinced by his statements, and District Judge Anne Marshall exonerated Crooks from any wrongdoing.
