Who is Michael Avery? The guy behind the alleged crashing of a car that left 2 people dead after the Rochester concert 

With the shocking turn of events, the man behind the car parked with bombs during the Rochester Concert after a New Year’s Eve show featuring rock band Moe is identified as Michael Avery. He is a 35-year-old guy from Syracuse, New York with bipolar disorder. According to news reports, the massive crash killed 2 people. 

It has been speculated earlier that it is a terrorist attack by Michael Avery but police authority found no evidence in connection with it. Rochester Police Chief David M. Smith stated there was no evidence that Avery acted on “political or social biases” in the incident, in which two vehicles – one laden with gas canisters – crashed before plowing into the crowd outside the concert at Rochester’s Kodak Center. 

“Avery’s family has been interviewed by investigators. The suspect’s family believes he was bipolar, though he had not been diagnosed. Plus before this, he had no contact with law enforcement’ stated Police authorities. 

According to a source, Avery left a journal and suicide note in his room but officials revealed that no suicide or any journal was discovered in his room during the search. The White House officials stated- President Joe Biden was briefed on the crash.

As per news reports, people were walking at the crosswalk just outside the Rochester concert during the early hours of Monday when Michael drove his rented Ford SUV into the parking lot and slammed it into a Mitsubishi Outlander which was leaving the parking lot with 2 passengers. 

The collision was so massive that it pushed the vehicles right through the group of pedestrians on the crosswalk leading to 2 passengers being killed. Nine pedestrians suffered injuries and the driver was taken to the nearby hospital to treat minor injuries.

As per police statement, the two victims are identified as Joshua Orr, 29, from Webster, New York and the other is Justina Hughes, 28, of Geneva, New York.
