Marine Corps Leader Detained For Unknown Charges; Who Is Sergeant Major Gerardo Trevino?

Marine Corps senior Sergeant Major Gerardo Trevino is under detention and he is facing an investigation according to the missive received from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service.

Although the charges against Trevino have not been made public, it was revealed that the West Coast recruit depot leader was fired last Thursday for ‘loss of trust and confidence’.

He was taken into custody by the NCIS on September 11 and has placed him in pre trial confinement.

Marine Corps Recruit Depot spokesperson Capt. Austin Gallegos told the media house Marine Corps Times

“NCIS is continuing to investigate. We will not comment further while the investigation remains ongoing,”

The NCIS also revealed on Monday that Trevino is in pretrial confinement.

NCIS is an agency which is tasked with probing crimes, thwarting terrorism and safeguarding secrets for the Navy and Marine Corps.

Who Is Sergeant Major Gerardo Trevino?

Sergeant Major Gerardo Trevino, originally from Texas, enlisted in the Marine Corps in and is a designated senior Marine Corps leader. He was promoted in 2004 and had been deployed a number of times to Afghanistan and Iraq, and was recognized for his leadership as a drill instructor. He assumed his position at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego in June 2023

His biography which has since been deleted read,

“Trevino was awarded the Dan [Daly] Award for being the most inspiration [al] Drill Instructor of India Company and was also promoted to the rank of gunnery sergeant [in] March 2016,”

Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports stated that the Marine drill instructor has been accused of peeping on recruits.

Female recruits recount how Gerardo asked them if their “hot moms or sisters” were coming to graduation.

Gerardo Trevino also forced the recruits to do their laundry.

Meanwhile, in another twist to the case, the wife of a jailed Marine sergeant major alleged months of violence.

According to unconfirmed reports, Trevino was arrested days after his wife alleged physical violence after an argument.

A domestic violence restraining order was filed on Tuesday in San Diego Superior Court.

The sergeant major’s wife has alleged that her husband was overbearing, abusive and had physically abused her for months.

Gerardo Trevino even tried to strangulate her until she ‘passed out.

Gerardo Trevino’s wife herself served in the Marine Corps and her name has been kept anonymous because she is the alleged victim of domestic violence.
