Did ‘The View’ Co-Host Whoopi Goldberg Lie About a NYC Bakery Refusing Her Order?

The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg has landed herself in a soup, with a slew of politicians across different political parties asking her to issue an apology. The politicians were irked by Goldberg’s comments on Wednesday’s episode of “The View.”

What did Whoopi Goldberg state, and why did it invoke such a reaction? Read on to know more about it.

People want an answer to the question: did “The View” co-host lie that an NYC bakery did not take her order because of her?

Locals have asked Whoopi Goldberg to issue an apology to a New York City bakery accused of refusing Ms. Goldberg’s orders.

At the centre of this controversy is a 146-year-old family-run business in Staten Island, Holtermann’s Bakery. The bakery, in a statement, clarified that it was not accepting pre-orders from anyone due to problems with its ageing boilers. It also clarified that defective equipment had disrupted its operations.

The controversy started as Goldberg was celebrating her 69th birthday, and during the course of sharing desserts with the guests, she mentioned that the bakery refused to entertain her orders allegedly due to her progressive political views.

Goldberg told the audience:

“I should tell you, Charlotte Russe has no political leanings, and the place that made these refused to make them for me. They said their ovens had gone down, but folks went and got them anyway, which is why I’m not telling you who made them.”

Holtermann, the proprietor of the bakery, told the media house Entertainment Weekly:

“I told Whoopi, ‘I can’t do it right now. Our boiler is unreliable, and the building is from 1930. I didn’t know if we could meet all our baking commitments.’”

Strangely, a member of “The View” team was able to purchase 50 Charlotte Russe desserts in person on 13th November. Holtermann, however, stated that he is not aware of the buyer’s connection to the show.

The boiler issue of the bakery was confirmed by Frank Scarangello of Scaran Plumbing, who changed the faulty boiler parts and stated to a media house:

“Bakers rely on steam for many of their processes. Whoopi’s claim isn’t fair—it was simply a matter of a broken boiler.”

The bakery is receiving support from the general public, with many honking and shouting:

“F— you, Whoopi!”
