Will Musk unveil affordable Starlink internet service during his visit to India?

Starlink, the satellite-based internet service by SpaceX, is set to launch in India after regulatory approval. With close to 92 crore broadband subscribers, India is a key market. The government’s recent legislation has paved the way for companies like Starlink to offer services without auctions.

The arrival of Starlink in India could boost the country’s digital economy, according to experts. Prabhu Ram from CMR believes that increased digital access will benefit education, healthcare, entrepreneurship, and the workforce. Starlink offers unlimited high-speed data with download speeds up to 220 Mbps, but the pricing for India is yet to be disclosed.

In the US, Starlink’s basic Wi-Fi service costs $120 per month for unlimited internet in rural areas. With Elon Musk’s upcoming visit to India, many are speculating if an official announcement regarding Starlink’s launch will be made. This could be a game-changer for India’s digital landscape, offering faster and more accessible internet connectivity to remote areas.
