Then, in 2011, they made the decision to observe World Heart Day annually.

All across the world, heart diseases are the main cause of death. These heart conditions caused 17.9 million deaths worldwide in 2019, accounting for 32% of all fatalities. Around 85% of these fatalities were caused by heart attacks and strokes.

Sadly, the majority of those who pass away from these heart conditions reside in underdeveloped nations. Nearly 38% of all early deaths in 2019 (deaths occurring before the age of 70) caused by non-infectious disorders were attributable to cardiac conditions.
