Did the RSF Really Massacre Over 2,000 Civilians in Sudan’s El Fasher — a Tragedy Visible from Space?
Satellite images reveal a horrific massacre in El Fasher, Sudan, where over 2,000 civilians were reportedly killed by the Rapid Support Forces. The bloodshed, visible from space, is being condemned as one of the deadliest ethnic cleansing acts in years.
While the world is occupied with the Gaza Conflict and the war in Ukraine, a massacre has happened in Sudan, and it is massive to the scale that it could be seen from space. Unconfirmed reports say that more than 2000 people have been slaughtered in just 48 hours.
Satellite images reveal that the massacre has taken place at El Fasher, Sudan, and the number of the dead could run into thousands.
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF), the paramilitary force of Sudan led by Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo Musa, which is engaged in a bloody civil war with the Sudanese Army, overran the region, and the massacre in the city soon followed.

Satellite images show sand around El Fasher turned red with blood, visible even from space after the brutal killings.
The RSF, which is mostly composed of rebels of Arab ethnicity, has been targeting Sudanese of other lineages. The Sudanese army, which is supported by the joint forces, has stated that the RSF has committed heinous crimes against innocent civilians and killed more than 2000 people, mostly children and women. They have also kidnapped hundreds of women who were being raped by the marauding RSF. Experts have called the killings a form of ethnic cleansing akin to the genocide committed by the Nazis in World War II.
The RSF has literally laid a siege on the city with sand walls erected around the city and are shooting civilians who are trying to escape the siege. As per the report by the Daily Mail, satellite images showed clusters of bodies near vehicles and an RSF sand wall around the city. Activists have also released videos, which have been verified by AFP, showing RSF fighters shooting unarmed civilians.
These acts come under the category of war crimes, crimes against humanity, or even genocide.
Sudan has faced a long civil war since its independence. The predominantly Christian South Sudan was involved in a long and bloody civil war, which ended after the Comprehensive Peace Agreement and the South Sudanese independence referendum and independence in 2011.
The present civil war is more about gaining control of the nation between the Sudanese Army led by Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and the RFS led by Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo Musa. Gold was discovered in Sudan in 2015, and the RFS controls most of the gold deposits.
The RFS, which is mostly composed of fighters of Arab ethnicity, is supported by the UAE and other Arab nations.
In fact, 70% of the gold that is acquired by the UAE originates in Sudan. The UAE is alleged to bankroll the RFS fighters and also provide them with lethal weapons of Western origin. The UNO has accused the UAE and other Arab nations of providing weapons and finances to the RFS, a charge that has been repeatedly denied by the UAE.
