PewDiePie Builds a $20,000 RTX 4090 AI PC — But Warns Fans: “Stop Using AI Right Now”
YouTube star Felix “PewDiePie” Kjellberg unveiled his $20,000 AI-ready PC built with RTX 4090 GPUs. While exploring open-source AI models for privacy and research, he urged caution, criticizing AI’s growing impact on real artists and vowing support for “the drawing nerds.”
Felix “PewDiePie” Kjellberg is a YouTube star and has a sizable fan following. However, even his diehard fans were not expecting what was to follow next. YouTube star PewDiePie revealed his powerful $20,000 AI-capable PC setup, which was constructed using multiple RTX 4090 GPUs.
The YouTuber employed his creation to self-host open-source AI models for learning and data privacy and in his free time contributed to Folding@home. However, during his tryst with AI, he expressed reservations about AI’s impact on real artists and online content.

The YouTube star resides in Japan with his wife and son, and Felix is now engaging in a hobby that is close to his heart. On October 31, 2025, he posted a video that declared,
“STOP. Using AI right now.”
The YouTuber first expressed his desire to use the machine he perfected for cancer research and even talked about a project called Folding@home, where people share their computer power with scientists.
Fans started wondering if PewDiePie had built his own artificial intelligence.
Felix emphasized that his AI platform was not something original and created from scratch but employed his computer to self-host existing open-source AI models. To give a more balanced picture, Kjellbergis used OpenAI’s open-source GPT-OSS 120B model, which means it has 120 billion parameters. Kjellberg later tried another model called Qwen 2.5 3B, but it required even stronger hardware. PewDiePie stated that it looked like ChatGPT but was much faster.
In a nutshell, Felix explained his aim was not to create something unique or new but to learn how AI systems work locally and to keep his data private.
Felix relishes learning about AI but negates how AI is taking over everything online. He further states that he wants to protect real artists and does not relish AI art and AI video tools replacing the human element.
Felix stated,
“I don’t mess with image generation or video generation. I stand with the drawing nerds.”
