WPL 2024: RCB’s Sophie Devine expresses pride in opening partner Smriti after skipper’s impressive performance against DC

Bengaluru, March 1 (IANS) In a recent match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, RCB all-rounder Sophie Devine praised skipper Smriti Mandhana for her impressive 74-run inning, despite RCB suffering a 25-run loss. Sophie commended Smriti’s confidence and captaincy skills.

During the match, RCB struggled to chase a target of 195, with Smriti shining in an opening stand of 77 with Sophie. Despite her valiant effort, RCB couldn’t secure a win. Sophie expressed her pride for Smriti’s performance, highlighting the captain’s exceptional batting and leadership qualities which boosted the team’s confidence.

Sophie, who showcased her talent with both bat and ball, commended Smriti’s handling of the bowling attack. She acknowledged RCB’s diverse bowling options but admitted they had an off day. Looking ahead to their next match against Mumbai, Sophie expressed confidence in the team’s ability to bounce back and put up a strong performance.
