WPL 2024: Shreyanka Takes Four Wickets, Molineux Three as RCB Bowls Out DC for Only 113

Off-spin all-rounder Shreyanka Patil starred with a four-wicket haul as Royal Challengers Bangalore bowled out Delhi Capitals for just 113 in 18.3 overs in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 final. DC had a strong start but collapsed under RCB’s spin attack, with Shreyanka and Sophie Molineux leading the bowling charge.

Delhi Capitals made a blazing start with 61 runs in the Power-play but crumbled once the spinners came in, losing all ten wickets for just 49 runs. Shreyanka’s impressive 4-12 and Sophie’s 3-20 dismantled DC’s batting lineup, with poor shot selection and running between the wickets contributing to their downfall.

In their innings, DC overcame an early mix-up between Meg and Shafali to score 61/0 in the Power-play, courtesy of aggressive batting from Shafali. However, RCB made a strong comeback post Power-play, led by Sophie Molineux’s three-wicket over that rattled DC’s top order.

Despite a brief fightback from Radha Yadav, DC failed to post a competitive total as Shreyanka Patil and RCB’s bowlers wrapped up their innings at 113 in 18.3 overs. Shafali Verma top-scored with 44, while Meg Lanning contributed 23, but it was not enough to challenge RCB’s bowling attack.

With this victory, Royal Challengers Bangalore secured a dominant win over Delhi Capitals in the WPL 2024 final, showcasing their prowess in spin bowling and strategic gameplay. Shreyanka’s exceptional performance with the ball was the highlight of the match, guiding RCB to a well-deserved triumph in the championship clash.
