YOU HAVE TO TRY THESE DIABETIC-FRIENDLY TREATS!
One thing that most people have in common is a love for sweet treats. However, for some, health concerns make enjoying such indulgences something that requires a little more consideration.
Fortunately, food preparation has expanded and become more adaptable. So, you can still enjoy having some cakes and sweets. This article lists some diabetic-friendly recipes that will delight without causing harm.
1. Diabetic-Friendly Carrot Cake
Carrot cake is one of the most sought-after tea-time snacks out there. Not only does it make for a delightful treat, but it is also easy to make. However, regular carrot cake contains numerous ingredients that make it unsuitable for people with diabetes. Consequently, it is necessary to employ some substitutions to make this cake a viable choice.
This diabetic-friendly carrot cake version uses sugar substitutes like Splenda instead of regular sugar as a control measure. It also calls for reduced-fat cream cheese instead of regular. However, these alterations don’t make this variation any less exciting to consume. Moreover, a flaxseed addition renders it high in fibre- a worthwhile bonus.
Please note that although this is a low-sugar and high-fibre alternative, it still has about 33 grams of carbohydrates in each serving- so moderation remains key.
