Youtuber Jack Doherty Crashes $200,000 McLaren During Livestream, Leaves Cameraman Injured
YouTuber Jack Doherty’s account has been suspended after he crashed his $200,000 McLaren while livestreaming.
The video footage revealed that he was distracted while texting.
Kick streamer Jack Doherty was live streaming an event which involved him driving his $200,000 McLaren supercar on a rainy day ride, and he lost control of the vehicle veered into a guardrail and crashed.
The streamer can be seen screaming before he crashed his car leaving him and his cameraman to fend with the wreckage.
The videos of the incident have since gone viral on social media platforms such as Twitter and YouTube and it is evident that YouTuber Jack Doherty was driving recklessly which culminated into the high-speed crash in his custom-designed McLaren 570S.
The streamer’s cameraman Michael was in the passenger seat. Post the crash the two were seen screaming for help with Michael bleeding profusely from his head and ears.
Post the crash a video on Jack Doherty’s X account shows how the rapper was asking for help while people tried to break into the driver’s side window.
Jack Doherty Faces Backlash For Not Caring About His Cameraman After Accident
However what irked netizens were Doherty’s attitude and the comments he made after the accident.
Doherty can be seen lamenting in the video,
“All my money’s gone,”
He then recounts the expensive upgrades he invested in for the car
“My f—— car!”
He shouts, then turns to his passenger, asking,
“Are you okay?”
Fans were mad at Jack Doherty and derided him for driving recklessly and later showing scant concern for his injured cameraman.
Many netizens pointed out that the streamer was using his phone just before crashing making it evident that he was distracted.
What irked netizens most was the streamer did not halt his live streaming when his cameraman was bleeding and required medical attention.
Instead of providing medical assistance to his cameraman, the streamer asked bystanders to hold the camera so he could document the aftermath.
One user derided the streamer and said,
“Bro, your friend is bleeding, blood is gushing, and all you care about is your car,”
Another user commented,
What on earth was he still doing live streaming with his friend in that condition?”
Another user described the incident as pure evil while a fourth commented,
“Dude’s on his phone in bad road conditions; can’t say it’s not deserved,”
Streamer dakotaz lamented,
“We live in a world where fame is chased harder than compassion. A kid, more concerned with recording and texting, didn’t even check on his friend in the passenger seat — his first thought was his car. This is the illness we face.”
Later the streamer shared a video from the medical center where both men received medical attention while the cameraman had multiple stitches on his head.
Kick has since suspended the YouTuber’s account.
Sportskeeda reported that 185,000 viewers were watching Doherty’s livestream when the crash occurred.
The car he was driving was worth $202,850.10. Kick community guidelines clearly outlines the importance of prioritizing both personal safety and safety and desisting from engaging in dangerous behaviour.
The platform in a statement to the media house People said,
“It does not condone illegal activity, which is why we swiftly took action and moved to ban this creator from the platform.”
