YSR Congress Points Finger at TDP for Jagan Attack

The ruling party YSR Congress accused TDP of an attack on Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy during Memantha Siddham rally in Vijayawada. CM Reddy sustained an injury on his left eyebrow after being hit by a stone on a campaign bus. YSR Congress leaders condemned the attack and blamed TDP for the violence, urging police to apprehend the culprits.

YSR Congress parliamentary party leader V. Vijayasai Reddy denounced the attack and criticized TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu for engaging in violent politics. Another YSR Congress leader, MLA Hafeez Khan, called the attack cowardly and attributed it to TDP’s inability to accept CM Jagan’s popularity. Meanwhile, Jagan’s sister and state Congress chief YS Sharmila Reddy condemned the incident and called for peaceful politics in a democracy, praying for Jagan’s quick recovery.

TDP dismissed the attack on CM Jagan as a ‘drama’ during his Memantha Siddham Yatra. Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu condemned the attack and urged the Election Commission to conduct a fair inquiry. TDP’s Andhra Pradesh unit president K. Atchenaidu labeled the incident a ‘version 2.0’ of previous dramas and accused the YSR Congress of orchestrating the attack for attention. He asserted that the public is not swayed by such tactics and remains committed to denying Jagan another term.

This attack on Jagan Mohan Reddy is not the first instance of violence against him, as he was previously injured in an attack at Visakhapatnam Airport in 2018. The upcoming elections in Andhra Pradesh are scheduled for May 13, with both YSR Congress and TDP engaging in a heated campaign amid escalating tensions.
