38km Noida-Greater Noida bus link opens in January

In the latest development, the Noida will have first of its kind bus service will be introduced between  Sector 62 in the city and Kasna in Greater Noida. It will start in January next year. The news came from regional transport department officials said Wednesday.

According to officials, the proposal for bus services for 38km has been initiated. “This will be the first city bus service route between Noida and Greater Noida and also the first one on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. It will connect major points including Metro stations,” said Arun Kumar, regional transport officer.

These buses will be air-conditioned and regular on their assigned routes i.e running through Sector 37 between the two destinations. Judging by the response from the public, the administration will decide the number of permits to be issued.

According to the transport department, those buses that have 35 to 16 seats will be given more preference to permits in the route. Only Bharat Stage Emission Standards (BSVI) will be allowed

“The number of permits for the 38km (one side) route will be decided by the commissioner (Meerut) during the upcoming meeting of the regional transport authority. Once this is done, it is likely that we start issuing permits in December and the route may open up in January. The buses on this route will be operated by private operators and authorized by the transport department,” Kumar added.

As per reports, the route will consist terminal route whereas the other city buses only run between different residential sectors.

The decision was taken after it came to the officials’ attention that a lot of people travel between the city for work and other purposes. It will be of great help public who had to various transportation to reach their destination. A single bus will do justice instead of other conveniences.
