Today (10 January 2022) is the death anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastri, 2nd prime minister of independent India. Shastri had been involved in several campaigns including White Revolution, and Green Revolution in India. Influenced greatly by Mahatma Gandhi, Shastri joined the Indian national congress in the year of independence (1947). Under, Jawaharlal Nehru’s government, he served as a Railways Minister from 1951-1956 and then Home Minister.
