International Tea Day is celebrated annually on May 21. On hearing the name of tea, many people get a call for it, today is a special day for such lovers of tea, because today is tea day. According to livehindustan.com, International Tea Day started in New Delhi on 15 December 2005 but a year later it was celebrated in Sri Lanka and from there it spread all over the world. The reason why the United Nations celebrates May 21 as International Tea Day is that in most tea-producing countries, the tea production season begins in May. Therefore, In the year 2019, the first International Tea Day was celebrated by the United Nations.
The largest production of tea in the world is done in the continent of Asia. Countries like India, China, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Kenya are included. In these countries, drinking this tea is in common practice from daily routine to celebrations. The popularity and acceptance of tea in India can be easily gauged from the fact that about 30 percent of the world’s highest total production of tea is consumed here.
