IHCL seeks to further solidify its leading position in spiritual tourism by expanding its hotel portfolio

Tata Group’s Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) is focusing on bolstering its leadership in spiritual tourism by developing properties in significant locations in India and worldwide. The company’s Managing Director & CEO, Puneet Chhatwal, believes that spirituality will continue to play a major role globally and sees a huge opportunity in this segment.

Currently, IHCL has 66 operational or under-development hotels in spiritual destinations, including the recently popular site, Ayodhya. Chhatwal emphasized the significance of spiritual destinations, stating that they are a safer bet as people visit these places in good and bad times to seek the blessings of the divine.

The company is pleased with the financial performance of its properties in spiritual destinations and plans to continue expanding its network. Chhatwal revealed that IHCL has already signed contracts for three properties in Ayodhya, with the first one expected to open in a year, followed by the other two. These new developments are part of IHCL’s strategy to maintain its position as a leader in spiritual tourism.

The company’s portfolio of spiritual destinations spans the length and breadth of India, including popular locations like Katra, Vaishno Devi, and Tirupati. IHCL’s presence in over 50 spiritual destinations sets it apart from other brands, demonstrating its commitment to this unique market.

Chhatwal also highlighted IHCL’s investment in lesser-known spiritual destinations, such as Guwahati, showcasing the company’s dedication to serving a wide range of spiritual travelers.

With the growing interest in spiritual tourism, IHCL’s strategic focus on this sector is expected to further strengthen its position in the industry globally.
