Indian men’s cricket team for the Blind arrives at UAE for Friendship Triangular Cricket Series for Blind

The Indian Men’s Cricket team for the Blind has arrived in Dubai to participate in the Friendship Triangular Cricket Series for the Blind, following 12 days of intensive coaching. The Triangular series, set to take place from February 22 to February 25, aims to empower visually impaired players and raise public awareness.

The Friendship Triangular series, involving teams from India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, is scheduled to unfold at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai. The chairman of the Cricket Association for the Blind in India, Mahantesh G Kivadasannavar, met the players at the conclusion of the coaching camp in Bangalore and wished the team the best, stating that the matches are an opportunity to create awareness and for players to live their dreams.

India and Pakistan will kick start the tournament with an opening match on Thursday at ICC Academy Ground, followed by matches between Sri Lanka and India, and Sri Lanka and Pakistan. The finals are scheduled to be held on Sunday between the top teams in the 2nd edition of the tournament.

The Indian team, consisting of a 17-member squad for the Triangular series, was selected based on their performances in the 6th edition of Nagesh Trophy. Captain Durga Rao Tompaki and vice-captain Sunil Ramesh were announced last week, with Debaraj Behera from Odisha, Sanjay Kumar Shah from Delhi, and Magunta Sai from Karnataka receiving maiden calls to the National team for the Triangular series.
