Govt to foster equality in healthcare, make last mile delivery accessible: Mandaviya

New Delhi, Feb 20 (IANS) – Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare Mansukh Mandaviya highlighted the government’s efforts to promote equality in healthcare and ensure affordable and accessible last mile delivery. He made these remarks at the inauguration of Vivekananda Cancer and Super Speciality Extension Hospital in Latur, Maharashtra, on Tuesday.

Mandaviya underscored the government’s commitment to promoting equality in healthcare services under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He emphasized the importance of making healthcare services affordable and accessible through various initiatives, with a focus on ensuring last-mile delivery.

The Minister also called for strengthening India’s health model to align with Indian genetics and focus on addressing diseases relevant to the country’s geography. He stressed the need to reflect on traditional ways of living and food to find solutions to prevalent health issues.

Mandaviya also highlighted the potential of traditional systems of living and food in providing medicinal insights and playing a pivotal role in addressing the increase in cancer and mental health patients over the last five years.

The inauguration of the Vivekananda Cancer and Super Speciality Extension Hospital reflects the government’s ongoing efforts to improve healthcare accessibility and affordability, as well as its commitment to addressing prevalent health challenges in the country.

This event serves as a platform for discussions on the importance of embracing traditional healthcare practices and aligning India’s health model with the country’s genetic and geographical landscape, as emphasized by Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.
