Guj to get modern govt hospital; groundbreaking ceremony on March 4

Gujarat to Have New Government Hospital: Speaker

Gujarat will get a new government hospital equipped with modern technology, announced Gujarat Speaker Shankar Chaudhary. The groundbreaking ceremony is set for March 4 and the facility will be the state’s second largest after Ahmadabad’s Asarwa Civil Hospital. It will offer advanced medical services for cancer, kidney, and heart diseases, marking a significant upgrade in healthcare access in the state.

The total cost of the project is stated to be Rs 54.16 crore, with MP Parbatbhai Patel contributing Rs 10 crore and Gujarat Speaker Shankar Chaudhary contributing Rs 40 crore. The healthcare landscape in Gujarat includes approximately 2,528 allopathic hospitals, with 503 under the state Health Department. The leading public healthcare facility, Ahmadabad Civil Hospital, provides specialized care and is spread over 110 acres, housing the Gujarat Medical Council and the Gujarat Nursing Council.

The upcoming hospital will be a much-needed addition to the state’s healthcare infrastructure and will provide vital medical services to the residents of Gujarat. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare access and ensuring that the latest medical technology is available to the people who need it. It is a positive step towards improving healthcare facilities in the state, and the contributions from Patel and Chaudhary demonstrate the support and investment in this crucial project.
