WPL Season 2: Bollywood stars Kartik Aryan, Varun Dhawan, Shahid Kapoor light up opening ceremony
Bollywood stars including Kartik Aryan, Sidharth Malhotra, Shahid Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, and Tiger Shroff dazzled fans at the Women’s Premier League (WPL) opening ceremony in Bengaluru. Led by Shah Rukh Khan, the stars performed at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, presenting the five participating teams. Harmanpreet Kaur lifted the trophy last year’s champions Mumbai Indians won as the event officially kicked off.
The opening ceremony of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) saw a star-studded lineup of Bollywood celebrities entertaining the crowd at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The likes of Kartik Aryan, Sidharth Malhotra, Shahid Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, and Tiger Shroff took the stage, each representing one of the five participating teams.
Kartik Aryan, who presented Gujarat Titans, started off the evening with a performance of his popular songs. The other Bollywood stars followed suit, introducing each team – Sidharth Malhotra for Delhi Capitals, Tiger Shroff for Royal Challengers Bangalore, Varun Dhawan for UP Warriorz, and Shahid Kapoor for defending champions Mumbai Indians.
The event reached its climax as the five team captains were brought into the middle on a chariot, accompanied by the trophy. Harmanpreet Kaur, captain of Mumbai Indians, lifted the trophy signifying the official commencement of the Women’s Premier League Season 2. Mumbai Indians will face Delhi Capitals in the opening match of the tournament, setting the stage for an exciting season ahead.
