IVPL: Gayle, Raina are fantastic cricketers, they are still hungry for runs, says Herschelle Gibbs

In the ongoing Indian Veteran Premier League (IVPL), Red Carpet Delhi captain Herschelle Gibbs is thrilled to play against veterans like Chris Gayle and Suresh Raina. He expressed his excitement to witness the game of cricket again at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida.

Gibbs mentioned, “It’s lovely to be here. Like I said, those guys are all fantastic cricketers. They are still hungry. It’s always about wanting to win, irrespective of what your age is and what league you’re playing in.” Gayle and Raina are making a significant impact by hitting boundaries and sixes all around the park in the IVPL.

Reflecting on his role as captain, Gibbs stressed the importance of scoring runs and making astute bowling decisions despite his limited recent experience in leadership roles. He highlighted the need for consistent practice to maintain timing and form, especially after transitioning from international cricket to league competitions.

Gibbs noted, “When you play international cricket, you’re virtually practicing every week. Once you retire, especially being a batsman, you need to be playing consistently. Otherwise, your timing is completely out.” As Red Carpet Delhi gears up to face Mumbai Champions in their next match, Gibbs and his team are focused on delivering a stellar performance to secure another victory in the IVPL on Tuesday.
