Advani stages comeback to win CCI Snooker Classic 2024, set to face Rawat in semifinals

In a thrilling best-of-11-frame quarterfinal match at the CCI Snooker Classic 2024, Pankaj Advani defeated Nitesh Madaan with a score of 6-4. Advani will now face Laxman Rawat in the semifinals, who overcame Pushinder Singh in a nerve-wracking 6-5 match. The event, organized by the Cricket Club of India, saw intense competition at the CCI’s Sir Wilson Jones billiards hall in Mumbai on Friday.

Advani, a 27-time World title holder, showcased his skills by making a strong comeback in the first frame. Despite a tough fight from Madaan, who managed to win three consecutive frames and level the score at 3-all, Advani’s class prevailed as he went on to win the match 6-4 with impressive breaks.

Madaan displayed resilience by narrowing the gap, but Advani sealed the victory with a brilliant break of 102 in the 10th frame. In other quarterfinal matches, Kamal Chawla defeated Rayaan Razmi 6-4, while Englishman Stephen Lee secured a 6-1 victory against Vijay Nichani.
