Chhattisgarh Warriors batter Jatin Saxena is making waves in the Indian Veteran Premier League (IVPL) at Greater Noida. Saxena, a former Rajasthan Royals player, has scored 188 runs in five matches and is relishing playing alongside Naman Ojha, among other veteran players.
In an interview, Jatin expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to play with experienced players like Naman Ojha and Munaf Patel, stating, “Playing with the best players on our side like Munaf bhai who is a world cup winner has boosted our morales.”
With a cricketing career spanning two decades, Jatin, 41, is focused on excelling in the IVPL while ensuring his fitness for continued success in the sport. He emphasized the importance of staying consistent and playing to his strengths, noting, “It’s about repeating the same things like focusing on every ball, playing according to your merit and strengths, avoiding your weaknesses and so on.”
Reflecting on his inaugural IVPL experience, Jatin highlighted the privilege of sharing the dressing room with international players, stating, “It’s the first big league after a long time. Playing with big players, international players, sharing the dressing room and ground with them has been special for me.”
The IVPL semi-final is set to take place on Saturday, with Jatin Saxena featuring in the evening match between VVIP Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh Warriors. Fans can look forward to an exciting showdown between the two teams as they vie for a spot in the final of the tournament.
