Kamal Chawla Beats Lee to Advance to 2024 CCI Snooker Classic Final Against Pankaj Advani

Former India No. 1 Kamal Chawla made a stunning comeback to defeat Englishman Stephen Lee 7-3 in the CCI Snooker Classic 2024 semifinal. Chawla avenged his previous loss to Lee in this prestigious event at the Cricket Club of India, Mumbai. Reigning champion Pankaj Advani also secured a spot in the final with a 7-2 victory over Laxman Rawat, showcasing his remarkable skills and experience.

Chawla’s impressive performance included a break of 88 to level the frame scores and eventually secure the win. Advani, on the other hand, displayed his dominance with breaks of 65, 55, 53, and 84 in different frames, sealing his victory in a convincing manner. Despite trailing initially, both players showed resilience and determination to emerge victorious in their respective semifinal matches.

Commenting on his win, Chawla expressed, “Although I was down 2-3 at the break, it did not bother me. I decided that I have to come back stronger and play positively and went for my shots.” The semifinal results saw Kamal Chawla defeating Stephen Lee 66-76, 107(85)-10, 42-70, 34-101, 59-31, 88(88)-0, 65(65)-33, 62-24, 66-21, 72(52)-59, and Pankaj Advani beating Laxman Rawat 7-2 (27-58, 41-62, 75-51, 85(65)-5, 89(55)-39, 80(53)-0, 69-59(56), 72-50, 125(84)-0). The stage is set for an exciting final showdown at the CCI Snooker Classic 2024.
