Urvashi Rautela’s Father Urged Her to Join JNU While Still in School

Mumbai, March 13 (IANS): Actress Urvashi Rautela, set to star in the upcoming film ‘JNU: Jahangir National University’, revealed that her father had always hoped she would attend Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) since she was in school. Directed by Vinay Sharma, Urvashi plays a student in the film, which also features a talented ensemble cast.

Urvashi, who studied at Gargi College in Delhi University, will be seen alongside Siddharth Bodke, Piyush Mishra, Ravi Kishan, Vijay Raaz, Rashmi Desai, Atul Pandey, and Sonnalli Seygall in ‘JNU’, scheduled to hit theaters on April 5.

In an interview with IANS, Urvashi shared, “I play a JNU student in the film. Actually, in real life, my father since my school days wanted me to be in JNU. So it’s like a dream coming true, though onscreen.” She mentioned that the film delves into the theme of a suspected conspiracy within the educational system, threatening the nation’s unity.

Describing the film further, Urvashi highlighted, “Within the confines of educational institutions, there exists a cause of concern. Some individuals have a hidden agenda aimed at undermining the unity of our nation.” ‘JNU’ promises to be a thought-provoking and intense drama exploring relevant societal issues.
