AstraZeneca India to Expand Global Innovation and Technology Centre

New Delhi, March 14 (IANS) – AstraZeneca’s India arm plans to expand its Global Innovation and Technology Centre (GITC) in Chennai, with a 30% increase in employment in IT, software, and business services over the next two years. Established in 2014, GITC has evolved into a vital hub for innovation within the company.

AstraZeneca India Private Ltd Managing Director Siva Padmanabhan stated, “Our commitment to putting patients first and our passion for combining science and innovation are the driving forces behind becoming an integral part of AZ’s digital transformation journey.”

The expansion of GITC’s scope aligns with AstraZeneca’s focus on science and innovation, enabling the hub to develop new solutions for the benefit of patients worldwide. AZIPL is responsible for driving the company’s digital agenda and strengthening technological capabilities.

GITC in Chennai and R&D Bengaluru offer a range of services including IT, analytics, global business services, research and development, and operations. This expansion highlights AstraZeneca’s confidence in the talent pool available in India, further cementing its global presence in the industry.
