Arshdeep credits bowlers and Curran for Punjab’s comeback in IPL 2024 match

In a thrilling IPL match at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Punjab Kings (PBKS) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by four wickets. Left-arm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh praised the bowling unit and Sam Curran’s crucial 63 runs for the victory.

PBKS restricted DC to 137/7 on a black soil pitch before Abishek Porel’s explosive innings of 32 runs off 10 deliveries helped DC post 174/9. Curran and Liam Livingstone’s partnership of 67 runs off 42 balls was instrumental in PBKS’s successful chase.

Arshdeep highlighted the importance of momentum swings in T20 cricket and credited the bowlers and Curran for bringing PBKS back into the game. He mentioned the team’s plan to utilize short balls and square boundaries effectively to counter the opposition’s aggressive batting.

Regarding the new rule allowing two bouncers per over, Arshdeep emphasized the need for variation and unpredictability in bowling. He emphasized the importance of mixing up deliveries and understanding the dimensions of the ground to execute effective bowling strategies.

Arshdeep commended Porel’s performance in the final over, where he smashed three fours and two sixes off Harshal Patel. He acknowledged Harshal’s experience and Porel’s strokeplay, highlighting the team’s collective effort in securing the victory.
