Federal Bank Expands Presence in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry with 26 New Branch Openings

Chennai, March 27 (IANS) – Private lender Federal Bank added to its network by inaugurating 26 new branches across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. The branches were unveiled by the bank’s MD and CEO, Shyam Srinivasan, in the presence of senior officials and staff members, bringing the total number of branches in the Chennai zone to over 250.

In addition to the branch openings, Federal Bank also made charitable contributions, donating 26 smart vision devices for the visually impaired through the Rotary Club of Chennai Towers. The bank also disbursed SHG loans to 60 women beneficiaries through the Tiruvallur District Fishermen Federation in Ponneri.

The newly launched branches are strategically located in various areas including Aranthangi, Ponneri, Vadalur, and Krishnapuram among others. The significant expansion marks a milestone for Federal Bank in Tamil Nadu, with plans to reach a total of 1,500 branches nationwide by the end of the month.

Federal Bank’s MD and CEO, Shyam Srinivasan, expressed optimism for the future, stating, “Our ‘Digital at the Fore and Human at the Core’ mantra gives us the edge required to compete in this AI-driven milieu. We enter FY 25 with a lot of optimism on the back of the strong network we have built across the country.” The bank’s continued strategic expansion sets the stage for further growth and success in the upcoming year.
