Babar Azam reinstated as Pakistan’s ODI and T20I captain

Babar Azam has been reinstated as the captain of Pakistan’s men’s cricket team for the ODIs and T20s, as announced by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Sunday. The decision comes after Babar stepped down as captain last year following the team’s performance in the ODI World Cup.

The PCB made the announcement on social media platform X, stating, “Following unanimous recommendation from the PCB’s selection committee, Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi has appointed Babar Azam as white-ball (ODI and T20I) captain of the Pakistan men’s cricket team.”

Babar Azam’s return to the captaincy role comes after a period of restructuring within the team and management. The star batter is expected to lead the Men-in-Green in the upcoming matches and tournaments, bringing his experience and leadership skills to the forefront.

The decision to appoint Babar Azam as the captain of the white-ball team reflects the PCB’s confidence in his abilities to lead the team to success in the ODIs and T20s. With his proven track record as a top performer, Babar’s leadership will be crucial in guiding Pakistan towards victory on the international stage once again.
